OK,

 

My 1991 legacy has been running badly for 6 months or so, and I finally intend to get her fixed up. I had one of the spark plugs blow out and had it in the shop for a re-thread 3 mo ago. They ran the codes and it reads CPC solenoid valve needs replacing and CPC solenoid circut locked up and needs diagnosing. The check engine light comes on sometimes.

 

Im guessing someone out there has had this problem and has a good solution. Thank you so very much for your help!

Welcome to the USMB. If the canister purge solenoid code is coming up, I'd suggest replacing the solenoid. It can cause some weird things to happen, but I don't know if it'd be causing all the problems. But like I said, start with that first.

 

I'd also suggest checking the codes yourself. It's very easy to do. I've got instructions on my site.
