Adam45
I am setting up the timing on my 1995 subaru GT-B engine Ej20h, I put all the marks where they should be but it seems that its not firing, so my question is, Does anyone know how to set up the firing order for a Subaru, I am not sure whether I have to do something to the Distributer, as I dont think its run off a distributer, as the spark plugs reccomend using a transistor starter, Do I need to time whatever starts this blasted thing? Its turning over fine, but now I have taken rocker cover off and set cams perfect even tho I think they were fine in the first place, What times the spark?? Fairtax4me
I believe by 95 they were all electronic, no distributor. You have a position sensor on the crankshaft that tells the ECU when the pistons are in the correct position to fire. If you're positive you aren't getting any spark, check all the fuses, check to see that the coil is getting power. You can also test the crankshaft position sensor for operation by checking for 5V reference from the ECU at the sensor. And check the return wire for a voltage pulse when the engine is cranking.
