I would like to know which model tranny I have in my car and if its interchangeable whith other years or models...?

 

My car:

 

1998 Legacy Outback AWD with 2.5 l engine.

 

My tranny was leaking alot and the shop wants $3000 to rebuild it, trying to find out what my options are...
