Can I use the heads from an EA81 on a EA71 block?

 

The bore is the same on both blocks but I'm guessing the valves are bigger? Or is it the cams that differ?

No. The space between the cylinder bores is wider on the EA81 than the EA71. The heads will not work, they dont bolt on, I have pics of all this. However, you can modify EA63 Dual Port heads to fit the EA71, which will raise your compression ratio and flow better with a nice port and polish.
