Redhill
I have a 88 GL wagon turbo 4wd 5sp m. The front main seal is leaking so I thought I would check the PCV system first ( been down this road before).I installed a new PCV valve, the hoses are clear to each valve cover, the middle hose is missing to the block. I went to put one on and the metal tube sticking out of the block is missing, I found the hole at the rear of the block and it solid, not drilled thru. Does anyone know whats up with that? Can I dril it with a vacuum cleaner to get the shavings? Thanks for your help, Red.
Gloyale
Sounds like someone has replaced the motor with a Non-MPFI shortblock. Do not drill through. There is more differenc in the block than just that hole. The block you have will not have the extra baffle area behind the #3 cylinder. It's not a problem though, just route the rest of the PCV system and cap the hose to that vent.
Redhill
Gloyale, thanks for the good information. The hose to that port is plugged. I thought the block might be building pressure. It looks like a front main seal job for me. Thanks again, Red.
