PCV port missing?

Recommended Posts

I have a 88 GL wagon turbo 4wd 5sp m. The front main seal is leaking so I thought I would check the PCV system first ( been down this road before).I installed a new PCV valve, the hoses are clear to each valve cover, the middle hose is missing to the block. I went to put one on and the metal tube sticking out of the block is missing, I found the hole at the rear of the block and it solid, not drilled thru. Does anyone know whats up with that? Can I dril it with a vacuum cleaner to get the shavings? Thanks for your help, Red.

Sounds like someone has replaced the motor with a Non-MPFI shortblock.

Do not drill through.

There is more differenc in the block than just that hole. The block you have will not have the extra baffle area behind the #3 cylinder.

It's not a problem though, just route the rest of the PCV system and cap the hose to that vent.
