can anyone tell me what that white vacum canister thingy does and if I need it? Its located on the pass side by the firewall.

it is the vacuum canister. without it, you will not have heater controls or diff lock functions. leave it there.

there is one vac line that will connect to the intake. it should tee off along the boost switch on the framerail ahead of the strut. look around to see if there is a loose end. there will be a check valve in the bundle of hoses it connects to
