April 3, 201016 yr For everyone's information removing this section does not radically increase noise but does seem to improve engine response,opening up the intake oval section will improve things more and the plastic splash guard refitted keeps the crud out.

I was actually reading a thread about some sort of resonance this chamber stops, that can have a direct impact on the fuel ratio if removed. At least I think that's what it said - its 2am here and I'm tired as hell. Will look for it in the morning if someone hasn't beaten me to it.
