wakesyco Posted March 25, 2010 Share Posted March 25, 2010 i have many questions about doing this swap my main one is.... i have two 2.2 trannys one for a 97 legacy 5 speed and the other for a 96 impreza 5 speed will either of those work with a ej25???? also i will have to change my ecu correct???? any other helpfull advice would be nice as well Link to comment Share on other sites More sharing options...
idosubaru Posted March 25, 2010 Share Posted March 25, 2010 all covered here in great depth. no ECU needed. either trans will bolt up just fine, motor doesn't give a rip what trans it's bolted to and most subaru transmissions are easily interchangeable. as far as the trans go - the final drive ratio needs to match the rear diff of the car.
