I've installed two different 2 1/16" tachometers in my Subaru 360 van.....

 

1) Cheap Harbor Freight tach that did not work so good:

 

 

2) Expensive Autometer tach that works super:

 

 

 

Moral of this story? ....you get what you pay for.

I had a VDO gauge in the 78 wagon I had that worked great. I plan on getting a nice big quality Autometer tach for my FF-1.

The trouble with a 5" monster tach in a Subaru 360 is you can no longer see the road ahead !
