I am going to be putting in a 2.2 into my 1.8 Impreza soon. I know you can just keep the 1.8 intake manifold and just slap it onto the EJ22 bottom end. I need a stage 1 clutch kit for this swap because I plan on running some good power. Anybody have good suggestions for a performance clutch kit for the EJ22? I would love any suggestions for this swap. I am so excited to be building an impreza!!

 

First off, are you building a turbo engine or N/A? Second - if you're talking about decent power, that gearbox/clutch is not going to do - Get a pull-type hydraulic clutch from a turbo Legacy/Imp.

 

If I were you, I'd just try to find a crashed turbo Imp and buy the whole car to use as a donor. That way you have a harness, engine, gearbox, master cylinder, brakes, everything.
