I was a member of USMB many, many years ago (2000-2003) and lost contact due to the arrival of a Legacy to replace my L-series and XT back then. I still own a pair of Legacy's now, but I'm getting excitedly close to owning a 1982 Hatch EA81 4WD! I thought it would be appropriate to register again!

The Hatch I might be able to take over from a friend needs tender, love and care - lots of it, actually - and a new drivetrain as it is sans engine and tranny. Luckily the current owner already modified the chassis rails to accomodate a DOHC EJ-series engine, which is exactly what I intend to install - if the deal gets done.

I've got a lot of other technical niceties planned (obviously a 5-lug conversion but not like any other you have seen I think) but I will elaborate once I have the car in my garage - which reminds me, I will have to throw away a lot of junk/parts to make space for it!

Hi :)

Maybe if I tell I'm from The Netherlands it will ring some more bells :)

By the way, the hatch is being traded against two EJ20 turbo engines including split wiring looms. My friend is going to fit them to his Brat and his Loyale.

hey i remember you from back in the day! I also am a old member returning. I bought a WRX so i dissapeared from this site only to return a few years later with a 86 hatch! oh wait! Actually two hatch's!:lol: I plan on combining the two hatchs to make one really reliable awesome hatch! Anyway, welcome back and keep us posted on the upcoming project!
