Can I make this swap work? I have a 5/96 Legacy Outback with a EJ25 and need to find out if I can use an engine from a 2002 Forester 2.5 SOHC. The exhaust ports on the head are the same, but no EGR system. How will the engine wire harness mate up? Please help with any onfo.

This is not at all a direct swap. It will not plug in. The intakes are not interchangeable. You'll get a check engine light for the EGR system not being compatible (you'll get two codes for that). Not sure what you're looking for, but this is more of a project than a direct swap.
