I've got an '02 Outback (build date 05/01) with 5 speed that needs an engine. I've found one in a '03 Impreza with auto trans. Will it work? Will any other 2.5L SOHC work? Thanks.

99-05 2.5 sohc are all about the same. You just have to be sure your cam and crank gears are the same where they trigger the sensor, might have to swap them from the old engine. Use the complete intake manifold with all sensors from the old engine if using different years, there are some small differences there.
