Hello all, I have some experience riding in the 80's Subarus but have only owned my 98 Forester for a couple of years. I currently have the oppurtunity to buy both a 96 and 98 Outback, I intend to use the 96 for parts on the 98, I showed up here 'cause it looks like the place to find out lots of good info on parts interchange as I haven't seen both cars together but I think they must be nearly identical (But having spent 18 yrs. in the car buisness I know that is all but impossible!). I think I'm pretty well hooked on the Soobs I even tried to talk my wife into trading in her '02 Mustang ragtop for a newer Forester, she likes the Outback better. Sooo, I guess I have a project car to get on the road before snow flies in western new york, did I mention its deer season? She will need to be patient, are Mustangs as good in the snow as Subarus?
