Featured Replies

on the front of a mitsubishi lancer....

and it seems like it stops worse now...

ive nvr really noticed something like this before... does it just need to break in?

theyre semi metallic pads...

everytime ive done brakes, i feel like it stopped better than i woudl ever expect and then after they break in, stop more normal...

but ive never seen them stop worse.... and yes i pumped the brakes.......

Make sure everything is clean, spray it down with brake cleaner. Then bed them in well. Here is a good bedding in process from StopTech.

dissimilar material from the old pads embedded in the rotor can cause this kind of issue. I *assume* that you did not install new rotors, turn the rotors or scuff off the old pad material when you did the brakes?

All brake pads need to be bedded in before you will get maximum stopping power. Did the rotors have a lot of large deep grooves/rings in the braking surface?
