Regarding Phase one engines, I swore I read that the early ones required premium fuel. Did a search and couldn't find anything. If this is true, when was the change to the lower octane made?

The H6 SVX required 91 octane. Sorry but I don't recall any 4's needing the extra juice but I'm not positive about this.

The 96 2.5L engine was 155 hp and needed premium.

 

They made changes in 97, upped the hp to 165 and it runs on regular fuel.
