iv got a nice little 79' Subaru brat i was hopping to get a little more power out of her, was wondering what my options were for an engine swap, is a transmission swap going to be necessary also?

any other suggestions?

to clarify abit more, currently my brat has a Ea-71 engine,

new the spec are:

-Displacement: 1595 cc

-Compression Ratio: 9.0:1

-Horsepower:67 bhp (50 kW; 68 PS) @ 5200 RPM

-Torque:81 lb·ft (110 N·m) @ 2400 RPM
