Looking to save some time and effort...

Car is '87 RX, stock DR5MT. Long term plan is for an EJ20G transplant.

How much clearance do y'all have between the cam covers and the "frame horns"? I'm adding some structural reinforcement under the strut towers (bay side), and don't want to take up too much space.

Plate "E" is the item in question.

Thanks,

Jason

Makes me wanna finish mine. Buying a LGT slowed the progress down.

Thanks Suberdave! The series of pics on your site with no front body work helped a bit. Do you remember how tight it was around the towers? Could you get your hand down between the valve covers and the body?

Thanks again,

Jason

Hi Jason,

Here're some pics of my 1986 XT Turbo with EJ20G engine.

Luckily today I was planning a compression test and spark plug service, so I had to remove some parts which gave me good view on the clearance between valve covers and frame rails. Hope this will give you some insight.
