I have a 85 subaru gl wagon 1.8l that I bought at an auction. the timing belt was broke when I bought it. I'v replaced the timing belts and plugs I checked the plug wires and they produce good spark. the drivers side (pistons 2 & 4) are not getting wet and it refuses to start.

Almost guaranteed that the timing belts were installed incorrectly. Happens all too often and is an easy fix.
