I have two cars that I want to make one good one out of. I have NO extra money to spend on anything so i have to part some things together, luckily I have alot of parts and all new tune ups on the shelf ready to go. I have A 1980 gl wagon 4wd 1600 with a great tranny with a new clutch, but the engine is toast and has been parted out and that car has been sitting being a parts car(lifesaver!). My other car is a 1983 gl hatch dual range 4wd 1800 with a GREAT running engine but the tranny is toast, wont even go into 3rd gear, there are tons of metal shavings in the gear oil, everything is just sloppy and wore out. I wanted to know if i could put the tranny from the 1980 wagon into the 83 hatch? If it is possible, i would be sad to lose the dual range awd, but am willing to sacrifice if it makes my vehicle functional. I bought a reseal and gasket kit awhile back and wanted to pull the engine anyways to stop all of the leaks....should be fun. I thank any of you who may have advice on this. OH.....just for fun, would a cyclops passing light and grill from the 80 fit on the 83? that would be sweet if it does. if my other car wasnt so far away i would just check, but hopefully one of you awesome subie owners would know..... Thanks so much-mastershua
