Shop said his 2003 Xterra (V6) automatic needs:

 

Steering gear box is leaking. Replacement was like $2,500 or $3,000 or something crazy - $1,800 just for the part.

 

Timing belt replaced.

 

Anyone have any experience or information on this?

 

I'd like to help him do the timing belt if i can this summer.
