July 1, 201114 yr I was going to try and fit a full-size spare under the hood, but between the 185 70 13 tire and the Weber carb/air cleaner, it's not going to happen. Plan B, put in the mini spare. I see them all over the local pick n pull, but you can't guarantee the body they sit in is the body they came from. Can someone read off the size of their mini-spare for me to match? Thanks, Lachlan
July 1, 201114 yr 1st gen brat, right? I've got a weber and a full size spare under the hood with of my '78 with no problem... I had to give it a good push because the tire is wider than the stock mini spare but it fits.

July 2, 201114 yr 185/70/13 - it closes no problem and its on an ea81 style 8 spoke wagon wheel.... I'll try and snap a pic later
July 4, 201114 yr Just FYI, the spare tyre size is the same as the factory tyre size. 155/80-13. Awesome tyre :-\
July 4, 201114 yr I remember that I extended the egr connection at the back of the air cleaner because the tire wanted to sit on it. Also, my weber is the DFAV so the linkage is on the opposite (driver's) side.
