OEM Fog Light Kit H4510AC010 2nd Gen Legacy

Featured Replies

Hi All,

I am looking for the install directions of the OEM Fog Light Kit for the early 2nd gen Legacys, not GT, or Outback. I know AK-Brando posted it several years ago but the links to his images are now broken.

Has anyone saved his scans or might have a copy they could post?

I recently purchased a nice set of projector fogs for my 97 L and would like to do as close to OEM install as possible. The fogs came with enough wire pigtail after the connector so I have some wire to work with there and I have a dash fog light switch from a u-pull-it trip last year, I just need to know the path to tie it all together.

Did you get the relay as well? I just hooked up a set in my car a few months ago. It's not hard. I can look at the wiring tomorrow and tell you where to hook up what, but you need the relay. I think it was only a 4 pin? relay though, you can usually buy those pretty cheap at a parts store if you don't have one laying around.

BTW, before you install the lights make sure the adjusters work. Mine came off a junkyard car and the adjusters were full of sand. Had to remove the lights and disassemble and clean the adjusters then put everything back on so I could aim them. :banghead:

Good point about the adjusters.

I bought a generic fog light wiring kit from AA that has a relay, in line fuse and lighted switch. I was planning to use the wire and relay only and try to hook it up to the right places in the fuse box. I have some misc. harness wires that I think I can harvest pins and sockets.

I also ordered four of the insert nuts from the Subaru dealer so I have some place to mount the lights on the bumper beam.

I have and can read the wiring diagrams from the FSM, so I know what the factory installed system should look like. I just wanted to compare the dealer installed system wiring to the factory and see how the dealer install went.

PM (private message) me, I have scans of the original installation instructions that came with OEM Subaru fog lights for the 95-97 model years.

I would PM you but I can't at this point, it doesn't seem to be enabled for me yet. I just joined USMB because I found a post about this in a Google search. I spend most of my time at SL-i.net and a little at NASIOC. AK-Brando who had scans in the thread from maybe 2004 or so hasn't been on since 2010.

I found an Ebay sale of the kit recently with a picture of the first page of the instructions so I know what was in the kit, but I don't have the run wire here, splice wire there part.

I think the scans could be assembled into a pdf and posted to the manual section here so if anyone else wants instructions they can find them.

Regardie

I sent you a PM with my email address. Let me know if you don't get it.

If I figure out how to get a file posted in the manuals section I will submit it.
