i have an 89 gl. when i start it up or sometimes when i accelerate i hear a sound like water running ,coming from under the dash.it sounds like someone turned on a faucet. any ideas?

Check the coolant. IF the heat ever runs cold, the coolant is too low. There could be an air bubble.
