GL or Loyale lifting

Featured Replies

I'm looking to buy an older (late 80s early 90s) GL or Loyale and I'd like to lift it a few inches. Does anyone have advise on the best ways to do this? Also, is there anything I should watch out for with these models when looking to buy? Is one 4WD option better then the other i.e. push button vs. manual, and overall performance?

Utilize the search function... trust me... youll get bashed if ya dont...

Okay maybe not that extreme... but at least flamed :Flame:

As for preference...

Youll probably want fuel injected, so 1988-1989 GL...

Dual range 4X4 is preferred over pushbutton.

YOU CAN swap the Pushbutton out and put a D/R in... theres info on here about that.

The Loyales came with push-button (1990-1994) and are all of course fuel injected.

If you go with a carb'd Subaru instead, definitely think of a Weber in your near future...

As for lifts, tire sizes, etc you need to read the FAQs and stuff... theres SOOOOO much information on them haha.

You can build one of these 85-94 subarus in any configuration you can think of, as all of any of these parts would bolt up the same, using the right combination of unmodified factory parts.
