RX fuel sending unit?

Featured Replies

I'm looking at gauges for my RX project and the brand I have chosen to go with it Equus (there are already 3 in the car.) I'm replacing the stock cluster with Equus tach, speedo, volt, oil pressure, water temp, boost and fuel gauges.

My question is, does anyone know what the fuel lever sender(s) ohm range is from empty to full? There are 3 Equus gauges to choose from:

FORD/CHRYSLER -Empty=73 Ohm, Full=10 Ohm

GM/ -Empty=0 Ohm, Full=90 Ohm

AMC/SW -Empty=240 Ohm, Full=33 Ohm

I read that some (most?) Subies have two sending units wired together at 0-45ohms each. Can anyone clarify for me? I want to make sure I order a sender if need be with all the rest of my gauges. Would be sweet if one of the above gauges worked though!

Thanks!

i am doing the same thing right now. you are right the OEM float sensors range from 2.5 Ohms to ~47 Ohms. each. they are wired in series. so this will send 5-7 Ohms empty to 95-97 Ohms full.

what i am doing is running a GM 0-90 Ohm sensor with a 5 Ohm resistor wired in line to produce 5 Ohms empty to 95 Ohms full...

So the best thing to do would probably just use a GM sensor with the GM version fuel gauge then?
