1997 impreza OBS lift!!

Featured Replies

so i picked up some struts/springs from a 1998 outback limited today. they are going on my 1997 impreza OBS in hopes of achieving some lift. hopefully i can get at least an inch and a half with just these parts. i will post some pics soon!! they came from the local pick n save junkyard. i tried to get the trailing arm brackets to set the rear tires back in place but couldnt get them off the donar car. hopefully i can find someone on one of these forums that has them for sale. any ideas or may have some?? thanks everyone.

In the rust belt they are difficult to remove. I ended up cutting them out of the donor car for mine. Also had to do some cutting to remove the stock ones off my car. You can get them out with an angle grinder and cutting disc. or you have to flip the seat forward and cut through the floor to access the nuts on the other side. (I broke 5 out of 6 welds on the nuts removing mine) From there, you can put an 18mm wrench on the nut and just crank with a breaker bar from underneath. (Gives you a good workout. I used a cheater pipe.)

Good luck! Be sure to post plenty of pics.
