A/C swap

Featured Replies

So I made the rookie mistake when I bought my Soob and opened the A/C lines not realizing what it takes to recharge it. Then I learned it was an r12 system that is nearly impossible to recharge these days and is technically illegal.

So, I wanted to convert to r134a, even though I understand it does not work as well. Has anybody used a conversion kit? Which one did you use and how easy was it to do? Just curious. Summer is coming up and I would prefer to have A/C but it is not completely necessary:rolleyes:

Now that you opened the system there is a good chance that contaminants got in so you should have the system flushed then evacuated by a AC vacuum pump then refilled with r134a and an oil charge.

Probably better off just going to a garage to have it all done.
