Why is there not a clutch fluid reservoir in my 2001 Impreza Outback Sport? Also I've been experiencing a grinding sound when I shift into reverse (usually noticed when the car is cold) could this be low fluid levels, or what else could it be? Thanks.

grinding while going in to reverse is normal.

until 2004, revers was not synchronized

 

if it doesnt wish to go into R

put it back in 1st...roll forward 1" or so

try again...

 

this will get the gears meshed up and make it easy peasy to get into R
