I need to replace my speedo and I am sick of not having a tach just wondering if anybody has ever taken one from a legacy and put it in a brighton and will that give CEL codes?

I usually put just the tach in, the blank plate comes out and the tach goes in with 3 screws when you disassemble the cluster. That way the odometer stays the same.

 

You should be able to do a full cluster swap. As long as the plugs are the same on the back, subaru's pretty good about keeping pin functions the same.

Ok So I got one from a 1997 and the tach works great in there no problem. I compared the circuit ribbon at the back and they are the exact same. I however dont know if the speedo will work yet because my speed sensor is fried so thats my next step ohhh joy!!!
