90 ej22 heads on 99 ej22 motor?

Featured Replies

was wondering if they would fit on the 99 ej22 motor before i get to far ?

Yes as long as you use the head gasket for those 90 heads. But don't expect any performance gains going this route.

sweet and i dont really care just want the intake manifold from the 90 ej22 to fit so so i dont have to do any electrical

:headbang:

This engine will now be an interference engine.

The 99 pistons aren't notched properly for the 90 heads.

It'll work but make sure you use a new belt, idlers, and waterpump.

already bought the timing belt, idlers, and water pump. im gonna call a machine shop and see how much it would cost to get the 90 heads ported and polished they have 235000 miles on them

with that kind of mileage new valve stem seals would be nice.

i'd be interested in buying the 99 heads if you have them.

the 99 heads have 175000 miles on them and i do plan on selling them ! also want to sell the 99 intake manifold as a whole , along with alternator and other goods

Spend the money on a valve job instead.

with almost a quarter million miles, I'm sure the valve seats and faces have some wear.
