part combinations: will it work?

Featured Replies

Well, I'm planning on doing a swap on an xt6, I have some of these parts already, and a couple I have yet to pick up. But Im looking for a second opinion/some more input just to be sure that this will work, and that I won't be wasting my money. I decided to stick this in the "new Gen" section, as all the swap components are at least 95+

Anyway, here are the parts that I plan to use.

2003 ez30

1995 jdm ejTT manual transmission

2004 wrx exedy performance clutch and lightened flywheel

hydro clutch out of an outback ~2000

Suspension.

xt6 air ride struts

2000 legacy spindles and axles.

Still looking for a newer 4.11 LSD

Is there anything that you guys notice about my shopping list that probably wont work?

Any assistance, would of course, be greatly appreciated!:brow:

Make sure the clutch is the proper style for the transmission. 2004 WRXs still had a pull style clutch where the '95 you have should be a push style clutch.

You could always find air suspension from a first gen Legacy and then you won't have to modify the area where it slides over the knuckle. The XT6 struts are wider then the EJ struts and the XT6 struts won't allow for the camber adjustment bolt that the EJs use.

My research seems to say that it's a pull-type, which is different from the USDM version. As I noted above, it's JDM. But I don't know that for sure....somewhat why I posted this :D
