EA82T Ignition Coil

Featured Replies

Hey! After putting my EA82T back together after a thorough inspection, I got a little problems with the ignition coil. The problem is that i can't figure out where to connect all the wires. I had pictures of all the other parts of the engine, but the coil was the only one missing. The wiring diagrams ain't helping me much either. So I wondered if anyone else had or could take some pictures of the ign. coil just so I could get some clue. That would be really nice.

The black wire goes to the positive terminal. This includes the black wire from the distributor. The yellow wires from the car and disty go to the neg. terminal.

The capacitor thingee on the strut tower connects with the black wires.

The other pigtail from the distributor goes to the knock control inside the fender. (1985 and 86 models)

The blue and yellow wires come from the transistor on the coil bracket and connect to the coil. I believe the blue wires connect with the black wires on the pos. terminal, and all the yellow wires go together.

hope this helps. try "MPFI" with your search que

While you are at it, find yourself a second condensor and hook it up just like the first. When that little bad boy goes out, the engine won't start.
