So I'm hell bent on putting power steering in my 82 GL wagon, and thanks to another user, I'll be receiving the power steering components off an EA-82. I understand the cross member will get in the way so I have a few questions regarding the whole project.

 

Should I notch out the existing cross member or modify an EA-82 cross member?

 

Will I need to make custom lines?

 

Will I need to replace any pulleys or just belts?

 

What do I need to do with the tierod ends?

 

Is the steering shaft the right length for the EA-82 rack?

 

And most important, has anyone done this?
