I just bought an older dodge ram and the interior is a bit on the dirty side. I have a house carpet shampooer with a hand attachment. Can anyone recommend off the shelf cleaner to clean the carpets and seats? Either something to add to the shampooer tank, or direct spray on. Just looking see what works well. Also would like to disinfect surfaces. Basically clean the whole inside and remove past owners stink.

Woolite or the generic works great for cleaning interiors. For tougher stains, Folex, or Crud Cutter works great. Both can be found at Wal Mart, Home Depot, Lowes, etc.

Yesterday I was cleaning the interior of my 92 Legacy wagon and found gear oil spilled on the rear seat and the carpet in the cargo area. I took the seats and carpet out and put them in the back of my Outback and went to the car wash down the street. They look fantastic now.
