'07 Forester high idle issues

Featured Replies

My Subie started idling high while driving down the road, like it's cycling all over again.  I can feel it accelerate and decelerate slightly, but it's getting worse and the dealership can't find anything.  Hoping I can figure this out before the Alaska winter kicks in and it leaves me stranded.  Anyone have any suggestions?  Could it be that something is gummed up?  Can I use an engine cleaner in my Subaru?

Frustrated in the North,

Welcome to the USMB.

Do you have any check engine lights or any other warning lights on?

Does the engine idle high when just idling and sitting still?

Does your Forester have a manual or automatic transmission?
