teppichkopf
Brakes squeak for the first second when they are applied. (Speed doesn't make a difference.) Thenthey are silent. The pads were replaced recently. I assume anti-squeak juice wasn't applied to the pads when they were done. Is the "one second squeak" typical of not having used the juice? Or is something else worth checking out. -cl
ejlain
Did you do them yourself or have them done? Is the squeal coming from both sides? What kind of brake pads? Do they seem to stop the vehicle satisfactorily? I would pull off the tires and take a look...the pads could be seated improperly, the rotors might be warped, the shims could be in wrong or not in at all. I think it's worth a quick "eyeballing". - Ed
