80 or 81 gl-5 info

Featured Replies

So I might have a chance to buy a 80 or 81 gl-5 wagon,

What kind of mileage can I expect from a fwd 1600 manual wagon?

Let's just say its a good price and its a clean eastern Oregon car with very little rust and little to 0 body damage.

I have heard several testimonials that a 5MT fwd 1800 wagon will get 35 mpgs.  So possibly that or better depending on your driving and the engine condition.

hmm, sounds promising

from what I remember him telling me he had a couple issues with the car, one being clutch disengaging, new clutch was installed by a reputable local shop, I believe installing a new cable made it a little better. so maybe a little monkeying with it will set it straight, and two is the rear brake shoes are toast.
