Anyone know if there is any internal differences between the 5-speed AWD pre 2000 STI transmission and any other pre 2000 transmissions? Besides the final drive ratios? Kinda wanting to possibly upgrade internals instead of buying a whole different tranny to hold up to decent power

I have heard there are some small differences with the internals, but I'm not knowledgable enough on the specific differences.  If you don't get an answer here, I'd suggest calling Andrewtech, http://www.andrewtechautomotive.com/
