Ok I have a air conditioning pump that is chirping when it kicks on, or when you turn on the defroster,anyway it's sounds like the pulley bearings are gone. Is there a fix for that or should I try to find another unit maybe at the wrecking yard or from somebody that rebuilds them. And how much do they usually run? New or used. Thx any help here much appreciated.

Belt is loose. Or probably the idler pulley bearing is going bad.

 

Try a new belt and make sure the idler bearing is in good shape. If its dry and rattly replace it.

That's what I was wondering if that could be replaced without taking the unit off . I adjusted the belt pretty tight to where there was about an 1/2 inch of deflection when you pushed on it , was pretty tight. Figured it must be the pulley , that's pretty tight for a belt wouldn't you think. Thx
