October 22, 201312 yr The handle is down and the cable is loose. I guess the plunger switch is sticking but I don't know where it is or how to get at it. Wonder if anyone else has had to deal with this. It's really not a big deal but I thought what the heck if it's easy. It's on a '96 Legacy wagon. Thanks

October 22, 201312 yr Author Thank you. Brake fluid level is good. I first noticed the switch sticking last winter in the cold. I always use the P Brake. In the cold, the light would stay on and after a little driving would go off. Worked fine in warmer weather. Now it just stays on.
October 22, 201312 yr Also, the trigger in the fluid level can become problematic. We get a lot of false positives these days on our '96. I usually pull off the fluid cap. Compress the rubber cone piece that is stuck on the top a few times, then I put the cap back on and the problem goes away for a while. Edited October 22, 201312 yr by bendecker
