Beesh
I recently purchased a 2010 Subaru Outback 2.5i Limited. I understand that some Outback owners have upgraded their sway bars (from 15 mm to 18 or 19 mm). I have investigated Ralltek and Whiteline without much luck, but I did receive a suggestion about the 18 mm STi OEM sway bar... Thoughts? Advice? Thx
SubieTrav
I thought Outbacks came factory with 18mm, at least my 96 did.
Beesh
Not as I understand…..I believe the newer gen. Outbacks have a 15mm sway bar. Some have 'complained' about lane wandering at highways speeds….as such, some have opted for a beefier sway bar. A couple of years ago, Outback owners were installing 19mm Rallitek sway bars with some success….but I can't find anything on their site….best option now seems to be the STi 18mm….. I'd love to hear from those who have upgraded…worth it? Does it make a significant difference??
SubieTrav
You're right, they did decrease the size of the rear sway bar, I did a google search. Looks like the '09 Sti 19mm is a good replacement per this article http://tinyurl.com/knrg4ag
Beesh
Thanks for that! Here's the part that I found.... http://subaruonlineparts.com/subaru-outback-rear-19mm-sway-p-2163.html It's a 19mm (I thought it was 18mm) Edited December 6, 2013 by Beesh
