My 12 vote outlet in the dash quite when I was filling a tire with the protable air compresser. I checked the fuses and found them all OK.  What else should I check?

There is a fusible link on the back of the lighter socket itself that will pop when there is too much current draw/heat. You'll need to pop the socket out to access it. I think I wrapped some thin copper wire 22ga? around mine when it blew. I'm sure the right way to do it is replace it with a heat sensitive wire.

If you don't want a fire under your dash you should really repair it the right way.  They put certain size fues and fuse links in there for a reason other than to perterb you.
