Smoke from valve cover

Featured Replies

I have smoke coming from the side of my passanger  valve cover. mpfi ea82T
What could cause this?
valve seals, blow by, pcv valve, or wrong weight oil.

Oil leaking out of the cam tower cover gaskets and dripping onto the exhaust cross pipe.  You need to remove the cap and using new gaskets, seal them in with some high temperature gasket sealer.

Thats what I thought also so I cleaned the whole bottom of engine. Nothing is dripping onto exhaust. The car idles perfect. But if let idling for about 3min the smoke will appear. Its coming from the side of the valve cover. Not the bottom.

Could it be the o ring?

Also on my injectors, cyl 1 and 3 how do I know what injector harness goes where? I swap them and it still runs the same.

It isn't the "O" ring causing any smoke.  Just clean everything with brake cleaner and see what effect that has.  As far as the fuel injector harness, you would want to study the wires to see what their natural bends are telling you, as to which injector they attach to.
