96 legacy outback trans question

Featured Replies

I just replaced the trans in my legacy outback. The trans I put in originally had a slave cylinder, but I had to swap it out for the cable components on the stock trans. Is that ball socket that the clutch fork rides on different between the two types? I'm getting a lot of extra play in the clutch and it doesn't engage fully to shift. Am I missing an easy, stupid thing here?

Ball socket is the same, but in a different mount posiiton.

You need to use the fork that matches the clutch type, and position the ballpivot on the correct spot.

(cable pivot mounts further out from center)

Once I pulled the trans again, it took me maybe 10 seconds to figure it out. Pretty silly of me. Thanks for the response.
