Are 2010 Coil Spring the Same on Legacy and Outback?

Featured Replies

I'm putting my wish list together for my '10 Legacy as it approaches 100k miles (play time). On the docket is an Outback lift.

In my experience with my old '96, replacing the struts was sufficient and the old Legacy springs fit the new Outback struts just fine. Any idea if this is true with the 2010-2014 models?

I haven't kept up with the multi-link suspension stuff. I would imagine there is more to it than just spring/strut height since an inch of change can create drastic geometry differences with a multi-link setup.

The new Outbacks have almost 3" of ground clearance over the Legacy. That's certainly not all in the strut/spring combo, but would still require pretty substantial differences in the rest of the suspension to maintain proper geometry.
