So I have a 1993 impreza L. It has no roof rack. I want a roof rack. Is it possible and/or has anyone put a roof rack from other 90's imprezas on an impreza that didnt come stock with one? I don't want to go ahead and buy the roof rack to put it on and not work.

 

I plan on using said roof rack for stuff like, Snow boards, kayaks and other stuff that might end up scratching the roof which I don't want.

Of course you can do it.

 

Mark holes, drill. bolt it on.

 

How clean it comes out and if it leaks are dependand upon how well you mark, remvoe headliner or not, and what type of sealant used (the RIght Stuff)

 

I've bolted 2003 Legacy outback rack onto 90 Legacy L.

I have a 93 impreza that didnt come with the oem cross bars and i did exactly this. Under that rubber molding along the roof there are already threaded bolt holes for the rack. Go to a junk yard or find a car that is getting parted out and you should be able to find a rack that will bolt right up.
