Clutch issues...

Featured Replies

So my 94 awd manual wouldn't start this morning because of the safety feature where the car won't start without the clutch pushed in. I turned the key twice with the clutch pushed in and all it did was click like it does when dead. I pumped the clutch a few times and it started right up... Any ideas? The clutch doesn't ever slip. Sometimes hard to get into gear but no grinding ever. Could someone also tell me how to remove that stupid safety feature so I don't get stranded from the car not starting lol.

First off when your neutral safety switch doesn't work

your car won't go click it just power on but nothing

when you go to start it

Anyway to remove your neutral safety switch All you need to do is

cut the wires that go to your clutch pedal at the top

and splice the two wires together

After that you can even leave your car in first gear

clutch out turn the key and it will roll and start

only time I recommend to do that is when

you're playing in the mud and you kind of get stuck

Clutch safety switch tends to cause a rapid buzz from under the dash.

One solid "Click" is a starter issue. The contacts in the solenoid are worn and need to be replaced.
