2.2 cylinder head?@@

Featured Replies

Is the common for a 92 EJ 2.2 liter

To burn an exhaust valve on number 1 cylinder

because this car I just picked up hase 0 compression i the number one cylinder

And 150 and all the rest Check the timing its good just fouls out number one spark plug

or is it a slim chance that valve stuck or broken spring?

Not real common but it happens.

I've had an E18 and an EJ22 in recently with burned valves.

Pretty simple fix totally worth it.

I bought a 95 wagon with a burned valve on number 1. Engine had been overheated as well. Head gasket was blown out on 4 and I think it ran low on coolant which contributed to the burn. Whole cooling system on that car was a mess, except for the spankin new radiator!

So you think its the exhaust valve I'm almost certain that's what it is?

I did a leak down test I heard no air coming back from the intake

nor did I hear anything coming out of the oil dipstick

it definitely sounds like it's coming out the exhaust

I think more likely it's only one or two of them?
