1999 forester hazard lights flash occassionally

Featured Replies

My coworkers come to my desk on separate occasions and tell me my hazards are flashing, I go look and nothing is flashing. I watch and watch and nothing. I turn around then turn back and look real quick and nothing. I have not seen them flash while car is off (or on) (or ever) but don't think my coworkers are messing with me.

Any reason why my flashers flash while parked and off?

Thanks.

Could be the alarm system going haywire. That will flash the parking lights.

others mentioned that too but I don't think there's one. I've had the car for a year, the PO didn't say anything about one.

If it does have one, how can I identify it?

Generally there will be a "Security" red LED light somewhere on the drivers side.

The factory alarm module is usually behind the dash on the drivers side. It should have a sticker on it that says alarm module or something to that effect .
